Preforeclosure Investing Just Can’t Be Beat…

Unfortunately, it took me some time to realize that for myself. Shortly after I finished high school, I was enrolled in a small college in Massachusetts where I grew up. Needless to say, I made a couple of questionable decisions and was “encouraged” to leave school just five days after arriving on campus.

I returned home with my tail between my legs and was expecting the riot act from my parents. Sure, they were disappointed and so was I. But my father said something to me then that I will never forget. He said, “Son, someday you are going to be successful in business because you are not afraid to take risks. You just need the right direction to channel your energy.”

That voice of encouragement still inspires me to this day but it didn’t immediately set me out on the path that I am following today. Like most other young people who are not in school, I felt like I needed to get a job. I worked for a few tech companies during the dot com boom and quickly realized something that would forever change my approach to making money.

“I wasn’t going to become wealthy working for someone else!”

A short time later, I attended my first real estate investment seminar and my life changed permanently at that point. But it wasn’t an easy road. I started out with what I like to call the “kitchen sink” approach to real estate investing, trying a little bit of everything.

Sure, I made some money but I also ended up with a bunch of properties that had poor cash flow and I was soon struggling to keep up with all the payments. Was this how it was supposed to be? I sure didn’t think so and the day I discovered the preforeclosure market, things changed for the better.

I discovered that I didn’t have to make payments on houses and that I didn’t have to spend months fixing them up. The pre foreclosure market was about helping people and negotiating great deals on properties. Now this was more like it! If I could have gone back and done it all over again, I would have started immediately down this path, believe me.

Now, after years of investing in real estate, I’ve confirmed that there’s
